Constitutive session of the Security Council

The constitutive session of the Security Council was held today in the Cabinet of the President.

The session presided over by President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova was attended by the members of the Security Council ex officio: Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly, Hristijan Mickoski, President of the Government, Pance Toshkovski, Minister of Interior, Vlado Misajlovski, Minister of Defense and the three members appointed by the President: Cevdet Hajredini, Malinka Ristevska Jordanova and Vlado Spiridonov.

President Siljanovska Davkova also invited the following participants at the Security Council session: the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, the Director of the Intelligence Agency, Gabriela Jakovleva, and the Director of the National Security Agency, Bojan Hristovski.

The Security Council established at the session that the situation in the country is stable and there are no indications of threats to the borders, integrity and sovereignty of the state.

Those present stated that the competent institutions regularly monitor the situation in the country and the environment and that the national security system is functional and provides early warning of possible threats and risks.

The Army’s participation in NATO missions, EU missions and UN missions has been successful and continues, and the number of participants in the missions is determined depending on the needs and decisions of the competent institutions.

The Security Council will meet every three months, and more often if necessary.
