President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova today received Ana Stojanoska, Artistic Director of the International Theater Festival “Vojdan Chernodrinski”, theater scholar, writer and full professor at the Faculty of Drama in Skopje.
The Director introduced her in detail to the program of the 60th anniversary edition of the Festival, which will be held in June next year under the provocative motto “The Brave New Theater”.
Impressed by the innovativeness of the program content, the President gladly accepted to be the patron of the Festival.
The interlocutors shared their opinions on Macedonian dramaturgy, the place and role of famous actors, but also the chronic problems that theaters face, including the most difficult ones: spatial and financial.
However, they unequivocally concluded that the theater must remain alive and vital, trying to attract a new audience among children and young people, guided by the honest intention of encouraging their love for art. The President believes that the knowledge, professionalism, courage and enthusiasm of the director and her team guarantee an unforgettable festival that deserves institutional and financial support.
