6 October 2025 | Press Releases

President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova addressed the annual meeting of the countries participating in the “Brdo-Brijuni” Process, which was held in Durres, Republic of Albania.

Pointing out the unsustainability of the Western Balkans waiting too long at the gates of Brussels, due to the urgent need to expand the EU with all European countries in order to strengthen its role, as well as to increase its resistance to third-party influences, Siljanovska-Davkova stressed that it is cynicism and hypocrisy to ask someone to be resistant to third-party influences, leaving them at the gates of the European Union.

The President said that this year, unlike last year, the Statement was adopted by consensus of the leaders of the countries participating in the “Brdo-Brijuni” Process.

For her, cooperation is necessary to solve common problems, such as: the exodus of youth, the danger of economic stagnation and overcoming security challenges. “I believe in good will, I believe in good intentions, I believe in the commitment of Croatia and Slovenia to the process and their special responsibility towards the region and its accelerated progress towards the EU”, President Siljanovska-Davkova concluded.

Initiators of the “Brdo-Brijuni” Process are the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia. In addition to us, the Process also includes: Montenegro, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

The presidents of these countries meet at least once a year. The next meeting will be held in the Republic of Croatia.
