On the sidelines of the meeting of the countries participating in the “Brdo-Brijuni” Process, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, at which she welcomed the country’s progress in the EU integration process and the opening of the fifth of the six clusters.
The interlocutors discussed the current course of negotiations between Albania and the Union and the manner of their management.
President Begaj stressed that some of the Union member states want to see the region within the EU very soon. He expressed readiness for assistance and support in the process of the Macedonian European integration, adding that EU membership guarantees the rule of law, protection of human rights and strengthening of democratic capacity.
At the meeting, both reiterated the need to foster mutual partnership on the multilateral level. At the same time, they agreed that cooperation should be expanded and deepened in all fields.
