President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova had an extremely useful meeting with Brendan Hanrahan, Chief of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department, at which they exchanged views on several topical issues of mutual interest.
At the meeting, Siljanovska-Davkova, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, and the Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, welcomed the upward trend in the development of bilateral relations and discussed areas where further progress could be made.
The focus of the talks was the potential for deepening the Macedonian strategic partnership with the US.
The President said that she encourages Washington’s support for several strategic issues such as the opening of energy corridors which would be in the interest to both countries and the strengthening of economic diplomacy.
The interlocutors confirmed the exceptionally successful cooperation resulting from membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
