President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, who is paying an official visit to our country.
The meeting discussed strengthening the decades-long bilateral relations, intensifying economic cooperation and deepening cooperation between parliaments.
The President expressed gratitude for Turkiye’s continued support, emphasizing friendly relations and sharing personal and professional experiences with Turkish colleagues. She thanked for the numerous Turkish projects and donations in the country.
Advocating for even more intensive economic relations, the President stands for initiating new investments and increasing trade volume, stimulating tourism, as well as intensifying educational and research academic cooperation and exchange.
The President pointed out that Turkiye is also our proven ally in NATO, expressing gratitude for all forms of support, with particular emphasis on regular donations in the field of defense, which contribute to strengthening our defense capability.
The President once again congratulated December 21, the Day of Turkish Language Teaching, emphasizing the importance of the Turkish language and culture as part of the Macedonian multicultural treasury and a symbol of coexistence between Macedonians and Turks.
President Kurtulmuş said that Turkey recognizes our country as a sincere and proven friend, emphasizing the significant status and role of the Turkish community in it, which is a strong proof of mutual respect and understanding.
The meeting ended with mutual commitments to deepen close friendly relations and promote fruitful cooperation, with President Kurtulmuş inviting the President, with special honor, to an official visit to the Republic of Turkiye.
