The President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, attended today a briefing on the combat readiness of the Army.
At the briefing, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski and the generals in the Army, the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sasko Lafciski, informed about the implementation of plans, tasks and the situation in the Army in the course of 2024.
President Siljanovska Davkova was informed about the level of implementation of activities in the areas of personnel management, training and exercises, operations at home and abroad, equipment and infrastructure, military planning and force structure, modernization, budgeting and financing.
At the briefing, President Siljanovska Davkova said that the members of the Army continuously prove their professionalism, discipline and readiness, successfully performing their tasks and guaranteeing security, stability and national defense.
The President reaffirmed her commitment to continuing the process of modernization of the Army and investment in human capital, adding that thanks to the dedication of the Macedonian soldiers and officers, our country was and remains a strong and reliable partner in regional and global security.
In that regard, she welcomed the contribution of the Macedonian Army to the collective security, through active participation in joint NATO missions and operations, as well as the unreserved engagement in dealing with and extinguishing this year’s fires in the country.
The President concluded that the fact that the Army enjoys the highest trust and reputation among citizens confirms its credibility and dignity in the country and abroad.
The briefing is a regular annual obligation of the Chief of the General Staff to the Supreme Commander, the purpose of which is to present the situation in the functional areas that have an impact on the combat readiness of the Army.
