At an official ceremony, with the highest state and military honors, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova welcomed the Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic.
After the tete-a-tete meeting, a plenary meeting of the Macedonian and Montenegrin delegations was held.
The meeting discussed the Macedonian-Montenegrin political relations, economic cooperation, education, digitalization, culture and tourism, as well as regional, European and international developments.
Siljanovska-Davkova and Milatovic shared their views on the European integration, in which Montenegro is a leading candidate country, and the Macedonian path is blocked by the conditionality of yet another series of constitutional amendments, initiated from outside.
According to them, intensive reforms, in the spirit of the Copenhagen criteria, are Europeanizing the region, and broader trade cooperation and infrastructure are strengthening its role within the European framework.
The Presidents once again pointed out the necessity of rapid reintegration of the Western Balkans region into the European Union, given the high security risks caused by the current wars. Of particular importance to Milatovic and Siljanovska-Davkova is the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Youth Councils of the Cabinets of both Presidents, as an important step in the communication of the most vital, most creative, most reformist and most European human resources – the youth!
