President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today Ahmet bin Mohammed Aljarwan, President of the “Global Council for Tolerance and Peace”, as well as his associates.
Informing that the family of friends of the “Global Council” is constantly expanding, Aljarwan emphasized that hundreds of parliaments around the world have signed memorandums of cooperation with this recognizable and respected institution.
He recognizes in parliamentary democracy and intercultural dialogue peace mechanisms for promotion and guarantee of peace and tolerance at all levels and in all environments.
The President welcomed the humanitarian mission of the Global Council, emphasizing that it is welcome and effective in an environment of serious security threats.
For her, the Memorandum of Cooperation which the Global Council recently signed with the Macedonian Assembly is a step forward in defending and promoting the humane goals of humanity, regardless of differences on any basis.
She is particularly pleased with the signed agreement for scholarships for students from the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus”, her home institution, as encouraging for the best students, but also those with poor financial situation and urgent need for financial assistance.
For the interlocutors, peace and tolerance are imperative prerequisites for democracy, development and prosperity in national, regional and international frameworks.
