President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, on the basis of Article 84 paragraph 1, in accordance with Article 90 paragraph 1 of the Constitution, entrusted today the mandate for constituting the Government to Hristijan Mickoski, President of VMRO-DPMNE.
In her statement, President Siljanovska Davkova pointed to the constitutional deadline, according to which the President is obliged, within ten days of the constitution of the Assembly, to entrust the mandate for constituting the Government to a candidate from the party or parties which have a majority in the Assembly.
President Siljanovska Davkova, recalling that during the constitution of the Assembly, the President of the Assembly was elected with 76 votes “for”, stated that this result and the ongoing negotiations give her the right to believe that the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, has a serious opportunity to form a government, that is, to win 61 votes for his program and for the composition of the government that he will propose in the next 20 days.
“Therefore, it is my honor and pleasure today to believe with certainty that the step I am taking, entrusting a mandate for constituting a government to Prof. Dr. Hristijan Mickoski is a real legal and political step”, President Siljanovska Davkova said.
