President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received young people from Ohrid at Villa Biljana today, on the occasion of August 12, International Youth Day.
Among them were: representatives of the Ohrid Youth Center, members of the Ohrid Youth Council, first-generation students from the 3 high schools in the city, creators of the eco-application “Trashpinger”, participants in international youth exchanges, as well as members of the Summer Guitar School and the Summer Art School at the ICO.
She sent a congratulation message on the occasion of International Youth Day, calling it “the most important holiday in the world’.
The young people presented their IT skills, as well as their talents in painting, dance and music. The most successful high school students shared their experiences from school and plans for the future, and the participants in the international exchange informed about the positive experiences from the visit.
For the President, Ohrid will be more beautiful if the knowledge, mind and talent of young people are used, as carriers of new ideas. Adults must enable young people to participate in managing the present, if they want a better future.
For everyone, an important prerequisite for youth participation in the decision-making process is the adoption of amendments to the Law on Youth Participation and Youth Policies.
She thanked the guests for the wonderful day.
