President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, during the World Government Summit in Dubai, met with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin.
The meeting reaffirmed the high level of partnership between the two countries, which is based on friendship, mutual trust and respect. The President expressed confidence in further deepening of the political dialogue at the highest level.
In this regard, the President extended an invitation for an official visit to President Parmelin.
She thanked for the project assistance in various areas, making Switzerland among the largest bilateral donors in our country.
She stressed the importance of the support that Switzerland provides for the strategic determinations of our country, which, according to her, demonstrates the Swiss commitment to stability, development and the European future of our region.
The interlocutors shared the opinion on the importance of the large Macedonian community in Switzerland as an important thread in the development of relations between the two countries.
The President called for further intensification of economic cooperation and increased trade, including an increase in the Swiss direct investments.
Siljanovska-Davkova expressed condolences for the tragedy in the Crans-Montana nightclub on New Year’s Eve and the loss of human lives, as a terrible reminder of the tragedy in Kocani, which left lasting wounds in the Macedonian society.
The two presidents also exchanged views on the current global developments.
