President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with Ambassador Kilian Wahl, Head of the OSCE Mission in Skopje.
The Ambassador briefed the President on the planned activities of the Mission for 2025, highlighting the following priority areas: rule of law, fundamental human rights and social cohesion, good governance, youth policies and gender equality.
The President informed him about the newly established bodies: the Security Council, the Youth Council, the Pardoning Commission and the Commission for Awarding Decorations and Recognitions. She explained that during the nomination, she was primarily guided by competence, expertise and integrity, without neglecting fair and appropriate representation, as well as the gender and sex dimension.
She also presented the successful work to date and the possibility of mutual cooperation on issues in which we have already cooperated, but also in new areas.
The interlocutors agreed that it would be good, as soon as possible, for the amendments to the Electoral Code, in accordance with the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission, to be on the agenda of the Assembly.
The President and the Ambassador also exchanged views and agreed on the model and format of the celebration of “March 8 – Women’s Day”.
The meeting ended with an expressed willingness to organize joint activities.
