President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova addressed the ceremonial opening of the third edition of the International Festival of Children’s Theaters “IGOR MADZIROV” 2024, which is being held under her auspices and organized by the Theatre for Children and Youth – Skopje.
In her address, President Siljanovska Davkova said that it is undoubtedly a festival that, although it is being organized only for three years, has already gained a well-deserved reputation, not only at home, but also more widely, as a quality and original cultural event.
“On this occasion, I must praise the organizers, the Theater for Children and Youth, who created a great event that decently preserves the memory of our talented actor Igor Madzirov, who unfortunately left us too soon, leaving an unfillable void in his respective Theater and in the Macedonian playhouse in general, the President said.
President Siljanovska Davkova emphasized that she believes that this year’s Festival will offer top quality on the stage of the Theater for Children and Youth, but also on the stages of several other theaters in Skopje, where the audience will have an extraordinary opportunity in the coming days to watch a dozen plays from theaters from several European countries, created with love and patience.
The President sent a message to all children and young people, to live and enjoy theater and art, to grow and develop with the beautiful and noble, as well as a message to their parents and adults, to keep the child in themselves, to nurture their curiosity, freedom and disobedience.
“Allow me, at the end of my address, to wish the Theater for Children and Youth to continue with its rich program to please the youngest, to grow with them. I wish this delightful and warm home of art to grow according to the needs of the hosts, but also the guests – the audience”, the President said, wishing pleasant and unforgettable moments with the performances of the third International Festival of Children’s Theaters “Igor Madzirov”.
The play “Don’t Wait for Me”, directed by Vera Rozanova and performed by the French theater was chosen for the opening of the Festival, which is being held this year under the slogan “Everything is Yours”. The Festival, which is intended for children and youth aims to promote, develop and popularize children’s theater production, following the latest trends in content, forms, events and trends in the field of children’s theater.
