President Siljanovska-Davkova attended the celebration on the occasion of the Christian feast of the Epiphany in Ohrid, where the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, His Holiness Stefan, blessed the waters of Lake Ohrid by placing the holy cross therein.
Inspired by the deep faith in the divine blessing of the blessed waters, by the centuries-old tradition that symbolizes the baptism of Jesus Christ, and by the desire for spiritual renewal, hundreds of believers participated in the holy act, celebrating unity and love as the foundation of our spiritual wealth.
The President awarded the luckiest among the believers, Martin Godzo, who caught the holy cross, with an artistically crafted woodcarving. She wished him good health, personal happiness and spiritual fulfillment, noting that his achievement ennobles the spirit of courage, hope and dedication, which adorn this sublime holiday.
Later, as part of the celebration of the feast of the Epiphany, the President in Struga attended the church ceremony of the consecration of the waters and the laying of the holy cross in the Crn Drim River – a holy act, performed by His Holiness Stefan. She awarde Tomce Golaboski, the happiest among the believers who swam in the consecrated waters of the river, a handmade woodcarving, wishing him a life filled with health, joy and prosperity and noting that this holiday celebrates the renewal of the spirit, unity and the eternal strength of faith.
