President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held her first working meeting today with the Governor of the National Bank, Trajko Slaveski, at which they discussed the current economic and monetary situation in the country and the importance of a stable and independent central bank for long-term economic development.
President Siljanovska-Davkova was briefed on monetary policy, exchange rate stability, inflationary trends and the situation in the banking system.
She stressed the importance of promoting inter-institutional cooperation and coordination of economic policies to maintain macroeconomic stability and stimulate investment and growth.
Governor Slaveski emphasized the National Bank’s commitment to proactively monitoring global and domestic economic developments and adjusting policies in order to preserve stability and confidence in the financial system.
The meeting concluded that maintaining stable and prudent policies and constructive dialogue between institutions are the basis for further economic progress of the country.
