President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received the Australian Ambassador Daniel Emery in a farewell meeting, thanking him for his wholehearted commitment and contribution to the advancement of relations and cooperation between the two countries, wishing him further personal and professional successes.
She expressed satisfaction with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, with the hope that Australia will continue to be our partner and ally in the achievement of the Macedonian strategic goals and aspirations.
The important role of the Macedonian diaspora as a bridge for establishing close, friendly relations between the two countries was emphasized at the meeting.
President Siljanovska-Davkova introduced the Ambassador to the intention to establish a Diaspora Council as an incentive for its inclusion in the Macedonian social life.
The meeting highlighted the determination of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in various areas. It was jointly concluded that the level of economic cooperation is lagging behind and that there is potential for its expansion and deepening. The President emphasized the excellent cooperation with Australia within the UN framework, where we share similar views and values on numerous issues.
