President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, on the sidelines of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan, met with the President of Romania, Nicusor Dan.
She thanked Romania for its continued support for the Macedonian European integration, including through the “Friends of Enlargement” group, pointing out that this must be a process linked to the Copenhagen criteria with respect for the European principles and values, established in the Union’s constitutive acts.
According to her, strong regional cooperation is an important factor in political unification in the EU. She thanked for Romania’s understanding of the Macedonian aspiration for a partner country in the “Three Seas” initiative.
Both believe that good political relations should be accompanied by broader and more dynamic economic cooperation.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science.
Siljanovska-Davkova expressed readiness for further mutual support within the framework of international organizations.
She extended an invitation to President Dan for an official visit to the country.
