On the occasion of the great jubilee – 60 years of existence and activity of the Faculty of Music Arts, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received the Dean, Prof. Darija Andovska, MA, the Vice-Dean for Teaching and Science, Prof. Dr. Sonja Zdravkova-Dzeparovska and the Vice-Dean for Concert Activities, Assoc. Prof. Marija Vrshkova, MA.
For Dean Andovska, the success of the Faculty is the result of the great musical knowledge, love, creativity, effort and dedication of most generations of teaching staff.
The jubilee gains in importance and significance due to the fact that in a relatively short time, the employees have achieved far greater results than the faculties, i.e. music academies in the region, which are even a hundred years old.
Congratulating them on their birthday, the President stressed the importance of the educational and pedagogical work of the Faculty, which has produced musical and artistic giants such as Simon Trpchevski.
For Siljanovska-Davkova, the ambassadorial role of our musical artists in the promotion of the Macedonian state around the world is undeniable and invaluable.
She gladly accepted the invitation to be the patron of the anniversary of the institution, which is a nursery of artists indispensable for the successful work of the Philharmonic, the National Opera and Ballet, the National Jazz Orchestra, as well as numerous ensembles and orchestras.
The professors introduced the President to the difficult challenges of financial and spatial nature, the chronic shortage of instruments and the danger of some departments closing down due to the absence of staff.
They expect a review and amendment of a number of proposed solutions contained in the new Law on Higher Education in the upcoming debate.
