President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received representatives of the informal youth group “Support Kocani”.
Recollecting the terrible fire on 16.03.2025, they expressed their determination to do everything they can together to help the families of the deceased, the injured and their loved ones, as well as the city of Kocani to overcome the difficulties and move forward!
The young people from Kocani presented numerous ideas, plans and projects for restoring life to their hometown and stopping the exodus, such as: opening dispersed studies in informatics, staffing and equipping the fire department, renovating the hospital and staffing, opening a youth center, in which, in addition to individual and group therapies for psychological support, numerous workshops on important topics for young people would be organized, and many others. They believe that through friendship and joint activities, young people will overcome the trauma of the catastrophic tragedy more quickly and easily.
“We must fight together and overcome this collective and national loss, and I believe that recovery will be easier if we are together, because there is no person who is not affected by the tragedy”, said Siljanovska-Davkova.
She expressed support for the activities of Support Kocani so far, as well as readiness to patronize and participate in projects, measures and actions of importance to the city. She also confirmed the promise to award decorations and recognitions to the most deserving and most dedicated in Kocani’s unequal battle between life and death, as an inexhaustible source and inspiration of courage and humanism.
Kocani must not remain a symbol of death and pain, but we should transform the sadness into a heroic fight for a new Kocani, she believes.
