President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today the renowned musical artists Garabet, Diran and Garo Tavitjan.
Looking back into the rich musical creativity they have behind them, they shared with the President the initiative for the project “7/8 – Macedonian Rhythm”, the aim of which is preservation, affirmation and international promotion of one of the most valuable pillars of the Macedonian identity – the Macedonian musical rhythm.
For them, the specific odd rhythms, especially the seven-eighths, but also 9/8, 11/8, are a sign of recognition of the Macedonian people and the Macedonians and they should be appropriately protected.
The President shares the opinion of the musical trio on the need to nurture and protect the authentic Macedonian heritage, emphasizing that the Macedonian melody is indisputable proof of our uniqueness.
Expressing special respect for the project, Siljanovska-Davkova expressed her readiness to support ideas and initiatives of cultural and national interest.
