Before the end of the school year, 335 students from the elementary schools “Ilinden” from Kriva Palanka and “Ljuben Lape”, “Aco Shopov”, “Lazo Trpovski” and “Kiro Gligorov” from Skopje, participated in the traditional ceremony of changing the national flag in the presidential office.
The ceremony began with the Macedonian anthem, performed by the Military Orchestra and accompanied by children’s voices.
Then, the students had the opportunity to tour the premises of the Cabinet and get acquainted with the work of the institution. But the most exciting part of the visit followed in the courtyard, where they talked with the President.
Surrounded by hundreds of curious looks and raised hands, she answered questions related to her childhood and school days, her teaching work and presidential duties.
Recalling the first teachers who instilled in her a love of books, the President told the students to cultivate friendship, respect each other, ask questions and not be afraid to think differently, because curiosity is the beginning of all learning, and knowledge remains the most reliable companion through life.
The students left, carrying with them beautiful memories of an unusual school day.
