President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, within the framework of her participation in the Climate Change Summit (COP29) in Baku, had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozinovska.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and it was assessed that they are friendly and, in that direction, commitment was expressed to intensify and deepen relations in culture, tourism, education and other areas of mutual interest.
President Siljanovska Davkova emphasized the interest from the Macedonian side in intensifying the economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of energy, bearing in mind our interest in diversifying sources of energy supply.
The interlocutors agreed that economic relations should be deepened with specific bilateral agreements, and they expressed satisfaction with the Memorandum of Understanding between Macedonian and Azerbaijani energy companies, which was signed in Skopje in order to strengthen Macedonian energy stability.
At the meeting, the President presented the investment opportunities offered by our country. President Aliyev expressed readiness for possible infrastructure projects related to the gasification of our country.
At the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova sent congratulations for the excellent organization of the Summit and expressed her gratitude for the hospitality.
