The Cabinet of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova was visited by pupils and teachers from Skopje elementary schools: “Dimitar Pop Georgiev – Berovski”, “Kiro Gligorov”, “11 Oktomvri” and from the school “Draga Stojanoska” from the village of Dolno Sonje.
The guests followed with great interest the ceremonial change of the national flag, which is traditionally held every second Friday of the month by the Honors Battalion of the Macedonian Army. The event is a solemn act of expressing respect for the Macedonian flag, as one of the most important state symbols.
The students expressed great interest in the presidential office and its performance.
With sincerity and unexpected maturity, they asked serious questions, as if they were adults: why have we had only men in the presidency for decades, will I help in unification, did the students love me and miss me, was I an excellent student…
But they also wanted to “peek” into the President’s personal world: her hobbies, favorite book, movie, love for animals.
The President told them about her new pet, the Macedonian shepherd dog Karaman, who recently became part of her family and showed them a photo of him.
She encouraged them to learn, to read, to believe in the power of knowledge, goodness and love, to criticize, but not to offend, to respect others and those who are different!
The children gave her unique, handmade gifts and invited her to visit their schools.
