President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova had a working lunch today with the ambassadors of the European Union member states in the country, organized by the Hungarian Ambassador, András Klein.
In a friendly atmosphere, current domestic, regional, European and world events and processes were discussed.
The focus was on the Macedonian challenges and obstacles in the European integration and on the need for a creative solution to overcome the Bulgarian-Macedonian dispute in the spirit of friendship and good neighborly relations, respecting the fundamental values and principles of the EU.
The President reaffirmed her deep faith, commitment and determination to implement the reform agenda in accordance with the Copenhagen criteria, with active partnership with the EU.
She also pointed out that bilateralization and precedents are a real danger to enlargement.
According to her, in an environment of military conflicts, the enlargement of the EU with the countries of the Western Balkans, which naturally belong to Europe: geographically, historically and culturally and pursue a common foreign and security policy with the EU, is of common interest and strengthens their immunity to threats.
