President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Qatar in Skopje, at a farewell meeting, and thanked him for his professional and dedicated attitude in performing his diplomatic function.
At the meeting, besides confirming the successful friendly political relations, she pointed out the possibility of expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, health, agriculture, tourism, energy and construction, deepening economic relations and increasing interstate trade.
Siljanovska-Davkova also expressed interest in joining the project for the export of natural gas from Qatar to Albania and Croatia, given the fact that we are on this route.
She emphasized Qatar’s key role in stabilizing the troubled region, affirming itself as a proven actor and factor of peace. Both expressed strong faith in the power of peaceful resolution of disputes, the lack of alternative to peace and the need for lasting peace as a condition for development.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, from his personal diplomatic experience in the country, highlighted the impeccable cooperation with several ministries: the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Economy.
The interlocutors agreed that the appointment of ambassadors of the two countries, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, will open a new phase in cooperation, far better than the previous one.
