President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova attended today the closing of the 6th Ohrid Camp for High-Technology Excellence, which is held under her patronage and organized by “Macedonia 2025”.

She assessed that such initiatives not only contribute to the acquisition of advanced knowledge and skills in the field of robotics, programming, engineering and innovation, but also prepare young people to take active role in shaping the future, instead of being passive observers of changes.

According to her, it is particularly important for young people to think critically, create innovative solutions and use modern technologies as a means for social progress, sustainable development and a better quality of life.

Siljanovska-Davkova said that talent must be recognized, nurtured, stimulated and rewarded, and young people should “infect” others around them with a love of knowledge and science.

Recalling the robot Proteus, who turned against his creator, she emphasized that humanity must behave wisely towards new technologies, because they should remain in the service of man and not become a reason for the loss of the human dimension.

The participants shared their experiences from the camp, stressing that the program enabled them to acquire new knowledge and skills, work on innovative projects and establish friendships with peers from different countries.

They presented the projects developed during the camp, after which the President, in her capacity as patron, awarded them with certificates for successful completion of the program.

This year, the camp brought together 24 young people aged 11 to 15 from the Macedonian diaspora in the US, Malta, Serbia, UAE, Germany and from several cities across the country.
