President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received today the organizers and supporters of the Ohrid Swimming Marathon, which is being held for the 37th time, under the auspices of the President of the state.
At the meeting, the President was informed about the course of preparations for this year’s edition, the registered participants and the overall sports activities and contents of the Ohrid Water Festival, which also includes the Ohrid Swimming Marathon.
President Siljanovska Davkova said that, as one of the oldest sports events, the Ohrid Swimming Marathon is internationally recognized and valued not only by swimmers, but also by the entire sports community and, with its long-standing tradition, provides a significant contribution to the affirmation of the country.
Expressing confidence that Ohrid will host another successful edition of the swimming marathon, the President wished success to all the participants of the race this year and emphasized the importance of further continuous holding of the marathon according to world standards and keeping the attention and interest of the world’s top swimmers.
The meeting was attended by the President of the National Swimming Federation, Goran Stojanovski, representatives from the municipality of Ohrid, from the Ohrid Marathon Association, from the “Ohridski Branovi” Swimming Club and the Macedonian marathon runner Evgenij Pop Acev.
The Ohrid Swimming Marathon will be held on 31 August at the “Klime Savin” swimming track, 25 kilometers long, starting from the “St. Naum” monastery complex to the City Port in Ohrid.
