President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova Expresses Her Deepest Condolences on the Passing of Prof. Dr. Nade Proeva.
The news of the passing of the eminent historian and university professor, Prof. Dr. Nade Proeva, fills me with great sadness and a profound sense of loss.
I am at a loss for words to adequately express the impact of Professor Proeva’s passing—both on the academic world at large and on Macedonia.
She was an important historian in the field of antiquity, particularly regarding the ancient history of Macedonia. Her research, lectures at prestigious universities, and publications in renowned journals are an invaluable contribution to the field of ancient history. Her work was widely used by prominent historians in the discipline. She was regarded as a professor with sharp and clear thought, known for her carefree spirit, critical mind, and restless nature. Her unique, special, and courageous character made her unforgettable, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to exchange views with her in the academic field that we both cherished.
I am honored to have been her friend and colleague at the University.
The passing of our dear Nade is a great loss not only for historical science and historians but also for Macedonia, which she loved deeply and defended with sharp and critical thought.
I will miss her dearly, but I believe her fellow historians and students will feel her absence even more.
She will be remembered for many years to come.
