I received the news of the death of the eminent historian and university professor Nade Proeva with great sadness and a feeling of emptiness.
I lack adequate words to express the weight of the loss for science, but also for Macedonia.
She was a top historian of antiquity, including the antiquity of Macedonia. She also taught research at prestigious universities, with publications in renowned journals. She was quoted by esteemed historians. She was considered a professor with a sharp and clear thought; she had a carefree character, captivated with her critical mind and restless spirit. She was recognizable, unique, special, brave, unforgettable.
I am happy to have known her and had the opportunity to share views with her.
The death of our Nade is a loss for the historical science, historians, but also for Macedonia, which she so strongly loved and defended with thoughts and words.
I miss her very much, but historians and students will miss her most. One thing is certain: she will remain in our thoughts and memories.
