President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received today the non-resident ambassadors of the Kingdom of Morocco, Zakia El Midaoui, of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nader Saad, of the State of Kuwait, Ghazi Hamed Alfadhli, of Mongolia, Lkhagvasuren Sayanaa, of Georgia, Otar Berdzenishvili, of the Republic of Moldova, Anatol Chebuk, of the Republic of Cuba, Marieta Garsia Jordan, of the Republic of India, Sanjay Rana, and of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Modasar Chaudhry, who are based in Sofia.

At the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova emphasized the commitment of the Macedonian side to strengthen diplomatic relations with each of the countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

“Our doors are always open to dialogue and we look forward to working closely with you to explore the full potential of our diplomatic and economic relations. In that direction, I hope that closer bilateral relations and more frequent meetings will pave the path for the opening of the embassies of your respected countries here in Skopje”, President Siljanovska Davkova said, pointing to the huge potential for development of economic cooperation and presenting the attractive investment environment of the country, which is characterized by a strategic geographical location, a stable monetary policy, favorable tax conditions and a skilled workforce.

She presented the current situation in the country after the held presidential and parliamentary elections, the priorities regarding the reform process, economic development and foreign political relations.

In that context, President Siljanovska Davkova pointed to NATO membership and European integration as key aspects in the country’s foreign policy.

“As a member of NATO, our country has accepted its role seriously and responsibly. Our membership not only strengthens our national security, but also enables us to contribute significantly to regional and global stability. We actively participate in NATO operations, military exercises and decision-making processes, demonstrating our commitment to the principles and goals of the Alliance”, President Siljanovska Davkova said.

Regarding the process of integration into the European Union, President Siljanovska Davkova said that our country continues to take significant steps towards full membership in the EU and that it remains a strategic priority for the country, assessing that our integration with the EU is complex and includes various aspects.

We expect a clear confirmation from the European Union about its commitment to the expansion towards the Western Balkans, similar to the position expressed at the Summit in Thessaloniki. I think that the bilateralization of the European process will not benefit anyone and will serve the interests of third countries with different goals in the Western Balkans”, President Siljanovska Davkova said.
