President Siljanovska Davkova receives Dragan Jacimovic, ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received today the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Jacimovic.

The meeting discussed the overall bilateral relations of the two countries, the possibilities for cooperation in several areas of mutual interest, as well as promotion of regional cooperation in the direction of dealing with challenges in terms of regional security and European integration.

President Siljanovska Davkova expressed satisfaction with the excellent friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, which are characterized by mutual understanding, support and respect. She emphasized that there is an interest in deepening economic cooperation by using the opportunities and potentials for increasing trade, as well as in further advancing of the political dialogue.

At the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova welcomed the European Council’s decision to open accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and stressed Macedonian support for preserving sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement.

She emphasized that our support for the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue, expressing our willingness to exchange experiences in that regard.

In terms of regional cooperation, the President said that it is necessary to continue working on its advancement in order to deal with the challenges of regional security and European integration of the region.
