President Siljanovska Davkova attended today in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, the official opening of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change.
The official opening of the summit, which is held under the motto “In Solidarity for a Green World”, was addressed by Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, as President of COP29, Simon Stiel, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as the President of COP28, the Minister of Industries and High Technologies of the UAE, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
The focus of the talks between the representatives of the countries participating in the Conference will be provision of finance necessary to help developing countries to adapt to climate change and implement the measures necessary to achieve the climate goals.
Tomorrow, President Siljanovska Davkova will address the first plenary session of the high-level segment for heads of state and government.
