President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, who is on an official visit to the country together with representatives of the Kazakh business community.
The meeting confirmed the friendly relations between the two countries, with the President emphasizing that the meetings at the highest level in the past period, including talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Astana Forum and the 29 COP Summit in Baku, as well as the recent joint participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, have significantly contributed to strengthening mutual trust and political dialogue.
The conversation highlighted the joint commitment to promoting economic cooperation, especially in the areas of energy and renewable energy sources, trade, as well as culture and tourism.
The President welcomed the holding of the 2nd Macedonian-Kazakh Business Forum in Skopje, as well as the signing of 2 important documents: the Agreement on the Macedonian-Kazakh Business Council and the Memorandum on the Promotion of Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The Kazakh representatives are particularly interested in investments in the Bunardzhik Free Economic Zone, due to the possibility of easier access to the European market.
The President and the Minister reaffirmed the commitment of small and medium-sized states to multilateralism and the need to strengthen the role of the UN in the international order.
