President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with representatives of SOS Children’s Village Macedonia on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organization’s existence and work.
She extended congratulations on the occasion of the significant anniversary to the organization’s employees, collaborators and supporters, wishing them further success in achieving its strategic priorities.
The interlocutors introduced the President to the results of the work so far, the current programs and activities, as well as the challenges in providing support to children without parental care, young people and families at social risk.
According to them, psychosocial support for young people after leaving the care system is particularly important, in developing life and professional skills, continuing education, employment and housing.
The President assessed that in the past 25 years, SOS Children’s Village, with its work, has been an example of dedication, humanity and a professional approach in caring for children at risk.
For her, the organization has made a special contribution to the promotion of family values by creating a family model of alternative care.
To continue this important mission, she believes that a partnership between institutions and the civil sector is necessary, in order to create sustainable solutions for long-term care and support for children and youth.
Finally, the President emphasized that, with joint cooperation and support, it is possible to ensure that every child grows up in a family surrounded by love, respect and a sense of security.
