President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today the permanent delegates – ambassadors and representatives of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, led by the President of the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO, Konder M. Tala from Bangladesh.
The subject of the discussion was the protection of the natural and cultural heritage of Ohrid and the Ohrid region, through the prism of the recommendations of the Committee.
The President and the interlocutors informed the President of the clearly expressed political readiness and determination for legal and institutional steps, followed by specific measures.
She pointed out the need for greater engagement of the expert community, as well as for intensification of cooperation with the Republic of Albania in overcoming common problems.
For the interlocutors, the protection of the cultural and natural heritage of Ohrid and the Ohrid region transcends national borders and points to international understanding and solidarity.
