President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today a delegation from the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, led by the president of the chamber, Mendi Kjura.
President Siljanovska-Davkova was informed about the Chamber’s two-decade work, the problems and challenges facing the business community, as well as the opportunities for improving the business environment.
According to the Chamber’s representatives, there is no economic progress without the rule of law and a relentless fight against corruption and the elimination of the shadow economy.
They pointed said that the shortage of workforce, instead of importing foreign workers, should be solved systematically, through changes in the educational process that will ensure a qualified domestic workforce.
President Siljanovska-Davkova pointed out the need for an inclusive and transparent legislative process in which all stakeholders will be involved, including the chambers of commerce.
According to her, representatives of the business sector should also participate in interstate visits.
The Chamber’s representatives welcomed the President’s initiative to establish a National Council for Cooperation with the Diaspora and expressed their readiness to participate in its work.
