More than 170 elementary school students from the Skopje schools “Gjorgjija Pulevski” and “Koco Racin” and from the school “St. Naum Ohridski” from Ohrid, attended today the ceremony of changing the national flag, which is held in the Cabinet every second Friday of the month, as a tribute to the state.

In the presence of numerous representatives of the Army, the students, together with their teachers and educational assistants, first listened carefully to the commander of the honorary unit who explained the reasons and the process of changing the flag.

Then, their curious eyes were fixed on the flagpole on which the existing one was replaced with a new national flag. The ceremony ended with the intonation of the Macedonian anthem by the Military Orchestra, accompanied by the children’s choir.

As part of the visit, the children were taken to the ceremonial hall and informed about the two imposing mosaics by academician Gligor Čemerski, “Macedonia – Bright Land” and “Macedonia Remembers”.

The President expressed joy at the presence of the youngest visitors and answered numerous creative questions, including: What were her favorite books at their age? Does she miss her students? Did she ever dream and wish to become president? What characteristics should a leader have? How does one of her working days go and how long does it last? Does she remember her favorite teachers?

She named her beloved teachers and said that they had a huge influence on her.

Siljanovska-Davkova told them that it is worth learning and that there is no better investment in the future than knowledge.

The young visitors, in addition to having fond memories, also left the Cabinet with an autograph from President Siljanovska-Davkova.
