President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova attended today the cultural and stage event “Galicka Svadba”, which is traditionally held under the auspices of the President of the country.
The President expressed her satisfaction with the continuity and consistency in promoting the centuries-old Macedonian traditions, culture and art. The “Galicka svadba” event, as a significant tourist event, contributes to the revitalization of the Galicnik region and its popularization, attracting numerous domestic and foreign visitors.
Congratulating the newlyweds, Stefana Dimitrova and Darian Kochoski, on their marriage, President Siljanovska Davkova presented them with a “Galicka pafta” – a motif from the Galicnik costume, and wished them love, happiness and prosperity in their future life together.
“I am very happy that young people recognize the meaning of what is primordial and what is part of us and continue to cherish that tradition”, President Siljanovska Davkova said, wishing that this beautiful custom would last forever.
The “Galicka svadba” event officially started yesterday with the setting up of the wedding flag and the symbolic act of firing the gun from the groom’s house. Today, the traditional wedding customs were celebrated, and the newlyweds got married in the “Ss. Apostles Peter and Paul” church.
