President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, in Villa Biljana in Ohrid, received the Macedonian language promoters of the 57th Summer School of the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture organized by the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University.
At the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova was informed about the implementation of the current and planned activities and contents of the 57th International Summer Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture organized by the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University, which is being held in Ohrid until 29 August 2024.
Highlighting the great importance of the International Seminar on Macedonian language, literature and culture in studying and promoting the Macedonian language, the President assessed that the great interest to study Macedonian language in the world through the activity of 11 Macedonian lectureships, stresses the need for their increase through university study centers of Macedonian language, literature and culture.
The President wished them a successful implementation of the planned program of the 57th Summer School, adding that, with its diverse contents, it represents an opportunity to acquire education in practice, establish different types of cooperation and contributes to the development of Macedonian studies lectureships in the world and cultural diplomacy.
The International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture has so far organized 56 summer schools and 3 winter schools, as well as 50 international scientific conferences attended by more than 4,000 participants from over 60 countries, including prominent Macedonian language promoters, professors of Macedonian language and literature at foreign universities, Slavists, Balkanists, translators, scientific workers and students who study the Macedonian language on our departments and universities in the world. 65 Macedonian language promoters from 17 countries are participating in this year’s Summer School.
