President Siljanovska Davkova visits the Water Training Camp in Ohrid

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-Colonel General Vasko Gjurchinovski, visited today the members of the Army of the Special Forces Battalion, who are attending training at the Water Training Camp in Ohrid.

During the visit, President Siljanovska Davkova was briefed on the capacities of the Special Forces Battalion, as well as on the capabilities of the members of the unit, presented through demonstration exercises, performing water operations and displaying martial arts.

Members of the Special Forces Battalion, in a methodical demonstration exercise, demonstrated procedures that are part of special operations in a hostage crisis situation on a vessel, whereas the exercise included an MI-8/17 helicopter of the Air Force Wing of the Army. The members of the “Wolves” unit performed a short demonstration exercise and presented some of the military arts.

The President congratulated the successfully completed exercises, pointing out that the high level of training for performing complex tasks, which the members of the Special Forces Battalion demonstrated today, as well as the training in martial arts, confirms the professionalism, dedication and performance of our Army, which fulfills tasks in a dignified and disciplined manner according to NATO standards. She pointed out that this is another proof of the Army’s deservedly high marks, enjoying the highest trust among the citizens.

In that regard, President Siljanovska Davkova said that it is necessary to continue investing in the Army, as a pillar of national and collective security, in further modernization and in the education of army members.
