President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received today students-winners of international awards and recognitions in the course of 2024 and their mentors.
The students are part of the Union of Mathematicians of Macedonia, Union of Chemists and Technologists of Macedonia, Macedonian Geographical Society, Society of Informatics of Macedonia, Society of Physicists of Macedonia, Macedonian Biological Society, as well as students, talents who individually participated in international competitions and achieved success.
At the reception, which was also attended by the Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, President Siljanovska Davkova congratulated the results achieved, and pointed to the need to find a permanent systemic solution for adequate support of our most successful and talented students and their participation in international competitions. She said that the policies, especially the educational policy, should be appropriate and aligned with the needs and interests of those who are most valuable, those who are most promising.
“There is no greater obligation for this country, and I keep repeating that, for the right people, the best, to receive the highest and best support, and a guarantee that I have seen around the world, when students and their mentors were bombarded with offers during their high school days or at university for interviews, for conversations, and from all ministries they offer engagement, a job, alumni system, you are in constant contact. I think the time has come and we must not leave our positions without solving or putting one stone in that mosaic that will solve the problems of all of you”, President Siljanovska Davkova said.
The participants at the reception were part of the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad in England, the Copernicus Mathematics Olympiad at Columbia University in New York, the 35th International Biology Olympiad in Astana, Kazakhstan, the 8th European Physics Olympiad in Kutaisi, Georgia, the 54th International Physics Olympiad in Isfahan, Iran, 56th International Chemistry Olympiad in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 7th International Economic Olympiad, in Hong Kong, International German Language Olympiad, International English Language Olympiad, European Informatics Olympiad for Girls in Veldhoven, Netherlands, European Junior Informatics Olympiad in Moldova, Microsoft Office Specialist World Competition 2024 in Los Angeles, US, and other high ranking competitions.
