President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with representatives of the Association for Women’s Networking, Education and Research “Jas Sum Zena”: Ana Dukoska, Aneta Mehandzijska and Slavica Jankova.

The meeting focused on the upcoming “Jas Sum Zena” conference, dedicated this year to women in business, as well as on the association’s initiatives aimed at connecting women.

The President welcomed events that center on women and their authentic stories, which reveal both numerous challenges and notable successes.

In her view, this year’s theme focusing on women in business is an excellent choice for many reasons, particularly because women’s economic independence is a prerequisite for shaping one’s own life, building a harmonious family and participating in societal development.

Siljanovska-Davkova commended the courage of “Jas Sum Zena” members in shattering the myth of traditionally male and female professions by showcasing successful women, such as train drivers, ship captains and chimney sweeps, and by encouraging young women to freely choose and chart their own professional paths, guided by their own affinities, interests and abilities.

She welcomed the participation of women entrepreneurs from the region and beyond, specifically those of Macedonian descent, in the conference, viewing it as an opportunity to learn from their relevant, inspiring and motivating experiences and to establish cooperation with them.

During the meeting, the guests briefed the President on their partnership with the “To a Baby via In Vitro” Association, aiming to provide specific assistance to women and families on their journey toward motherhood and parenthood.

Siljanovska-Davkova expressed understanding and confidence in achieving the desired goal, as well as support for the efforts to reach it.

Representatives of “Jas Sum Zena” presented an initiative to establish councils for women’s entrepreneurship in cities and municipalities across the country.

They also informed the President about their extensive and intensive cooperation with the Diaspora Agency, which is expected to result in the establishment of an advisory body and a system for reintegration of returnees from abroad.
