A sports event was held today in the courtyard of the Presidential Cabinet, organized by the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health, with the support of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

The event is part of a broader and far-reaching initiative aimed at developing, implementing and evaluating a national model for the promotion of physical activity, healthy habits and mental health among children aged 6 to 14.

Preschool children, as well as primary and secondary school students, participated in numerous sports and recreational activities: physical exercises, team games, musical and dance performances, as well as an athletic race that brought competitive excitement and joy.

During the tour of the groups, arranged according to age and interests, the President followed the activities with particular attention, expressing sincere satisfaction with the enthusiasm, dedication and positive energy of the participants.

According to her, the initiative covers not only education, but has a broader social goal: to create more active, more aware and healthier generations.

“What unites us all is quality education, physical culture and good health”, the President said.

For her, there is a dire need for a healthier lifestyle, in which young people will be more physically active, spend more time in nature, treating it as an equal partner, and will treat their own health as the most valuable personal and social capital.

Speaking about the importance of physical education, Siljanovska-Davkova said that sport simultaneously and equally strengthens the body, mind, character and spirit.

The Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health, Vlatko Nedelkovski, welcoming the idea of Siljanovska-Davkova for a sports and cultural event in the courtyard of the Cabinet, explained the motives of the initiative by expecting good results through intensive institutional cooperation.

For him, the main reason for physical activity is building a healthy nation, necessary not only in achieving successes in sports, but also as a driving force for economic and overall social development.

The Dean expects that together with expert groups from Croatia and Slovenia, and in cooperation with the Bureau for the Development of Education and the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the Government, after three years we will have visible results that we will be proud of.
