President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received today the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Matthew Lawson.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, with President Siljanovska Davkova stressing that our country attaches particular importance to the development of friendly relations and cooperation with the United Kingdom, including alliance in NATO. President Siljanovska Davkova indicated her willingness to further promote bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom in all areas of mutual interest.
President Siljanovska Davkova emphasized that as a country we especially appreciate the British support in fulfilling the strategic goal – membership in the European Union, which continued even after BREXIT.
Ambassador Lawson handed President Siljanovska Davkova a congratulation letter from King Charles III on the occasion of assuming office, in which he sends his most sincere congratulations on her election.
“I know that you will bring the full weight of your Presidency to bear on confronting the great challenges of our time, from countering climate change to deepening North Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration. I am very pleased that our two countries have a robust trade and security relationship. It is therefore my hope that your Presidency will see the relationship, which is already so close, deepen further still, is written in the congratulation letter of King Charles III.”
