President Pendarovski meets with the Ambassadors of Japan and the Netherlands

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Ambassador of Japan, Keiko Haneda, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Willem Wouter Plomp.

The two Ambassadors congratulated President Pendarovski on his assuming of office, wished him successful term and expressed confidence that the relations of the Republic of North Macedonia with their countries will be further enhanced in the forthcoming period.

At the meeting with Ambassador Keiko Haneda, President Pendarovski emphasized the importance of Japan for the stability, prosperity and development of the Republic of North Macedonia and the wider region. As a country that is a proven friend of the Republic of North Macedonia, President Pendarovski expressed his expectation for further deepening of the relations between the two countries in all spheres of mutual interest, especially in the field of economy.

At the meeting with the Dutch Ambassador Plomp, President Pendarovski stressed the important role that the Kingdom of the Netherlands has through the direct aid to the processes of European transformation of the Republic of North Macedonia. The two interlocutors assessed that there is a continuous and close cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest, which is in favor of the citizens of both countries. President Pendarovski expressed his expectation for positive assessment of the achievements of the Republic of North Macedonia by setting a date for the start of negotiations with the European Union in June, noting that the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is crucial as a country founder of the European Union.
