President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the great Christian holiday of the Resurrection of Christ – Easter, sent a congratulation message to Dr. Kiro Stojanov, Bishop of Skopje and Eparchy of Strumica-Skopje, and to all Christian believers who celebrate Easter according to the Gregorian calendar.
Respected Citizens,
Allow me to congratulate all Christian believers who celebrate Easter, the greatest Christian holiday, according to the Gregorian calendar with the greeting – Christ Is Risen!
This greeting implies the core of the Christian faith that God in Jesus Christ became completely identified with the suffering of people, paid the price for the alienation of humanity and thus began to restore the world.
Although not easy to recognize in times of crisis and conflict, however, the contours of this renewal are drawn with every act of solidarity towards the most vulnerable among us. Reconstruction is present in the opposition to the structural causes of poverty, inequality and injustice, in the commitment to peace, social justice and nature protection. These individual and collective feats are a picture of what our society could be if goodness becomes our highest value.
May this holiday encourage us, following Christ’s example, to actively participate in the construction of a just and humane Macedonian society, with clear moral verticals, and thus in the restoration of hope.
