Honorable Mr. President,

It is a special honor and a great pleasure for me, on behalf of the Macedonian citizens and on my personal behalf, to congratulate you on the Independence Day, by sending my sincerest wishes for prosperity and comprehensive development of your country and well-being of the friendly American people.

This July 4th, American citizens celebrate the 248th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and celebrate the principles of freedom and equality, which are embedded in this document, which is an inspiration to many peoples of the world. The aspiration of the fathers of the American nation to form a government that represents and derives its power from the people is equally valid to this day for many other nations and concepts of governance, including the Macedonian. Sharing and cherishing these values, we are proud of the traditional friendship with the American people and are committed to its further strengthening, as well as to the advancement of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

As a stable partner and proven ally of the United States of America in the NATO Alliance, we remain focused on the common determinations for security, freedom and democratic prosperity by participating in joint activities to combat threats to stability and peace in Europe and the world.

I avail myself of this opportunity to express my gratitude for the support of the United States of America in the implementation of our reform processes, stressing that we will continue to work dedicatedly until their realization. Our ultimate goal is to improve the well-being of the Macedonian citizens, full membership in the EU, raising our status and increasing our strength as an ally in NATO.

Reiterating my heartfelt congratulations and hope that the strong ties between our two countries and friendly peoples will continue to strengthen in the future, please, Honorable Mr. President, accept the assurances of my highest consideration.

Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova
