Today, ahead of the 22nd Europe Summit in Salzburg, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with Macedonian Orthodox believers who recently established the new “St. Archangel Michael” church community in Hallein, Republic of Austria.
In front of the Church of St. Anthony, she was first welcomed by the youngest members of the Macedonian community, dressed in traditional Macedonian folk costumes.
She briefed them on the National Diaspora Strategy and the Diaspora Council, activities related to the Electoral Code, and the process of European integration, while they shared details about their work and lives, expressing satisfaction with the attitude of the Austrian state and society toward them.
They expressed special gratitude to Markus Danner, head of the Hallein Parish Association, for the opportunity to use the Catholic church’s premises to conduct their religious services.
Siljanovska-Davkova spent memorable moments in the company of her compatriots and the noble Catholic priest Markus, expressing a wish to create conditions for their return to the homeland.
