President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, on the sidelines of the meeting of heads of state and government of the “Aqaba Process Balkans III” in Sofia, met with King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Siljanovska-Davkova reaffirmed her commitment to promoting the values of dialogue, respect for cultural diversity and regional cooperation as necessary prerequisites for a stable and prosperous Europe.
The talks confirmed the closeness between the two countries, precisely in the year when we mark 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The President, stressing the symbolism and significance of this anniversary as an incentive for further deepening of bilateral cooperation, extended an invitation to King Abdullah II to visit our country.
Both agreed on the importance of deepening cultural and educational exchanges, as well as intensifying cooperation in the field of stabilizing the Middle East region.
The President expressed deep respect for Jordan’s diplomatic efforts in reaching the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, while emphasizing the role of the Hashemite Kingdom as a pillar of stability and reason.
Finally, she stressed the need for a thorough reform of the United Nations, an organization that, in her opinion, must restore its original mission and play a primary role in finding peaceful solutions.
