President Gordana Siljanovska Dakvkova attended the liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Kliment Ohridski in Skopje, which marked the feast of the Council of All Macedonian Saints, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the enthronement of His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonian H.H. Stefan as Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archdiocese.
President Siljanovska Davkova said that today’s position of the church is thanks to the perseverance and strong faith of the Macedonian people over the years.
“The number of believers, but also the number of monks, and the number of those in the highest positions in the church increased during the most difficult times. Ethics, morality, spirit, are inseparable from the Macedonian Orthodox Church. It is not by chance that we are talking about Macedonian church-school municipalities. Our most famous priests, the most respected ones, were also teachers at the same time. As long as Macedonian people exist anywhere on Earth, the church will also exist”, President Siljanovska Davkova said.
